We miss you very much, Bobby. We love you. A note from The Virtual Wall Captain Bobby Jones was a Flight Surgeon assigned to the 432nd Tac Recon Wing's hospital. On 28 Nov 1972, he and pilot Captain Jack R. Harvey departed Udorn RTAFB in an F-4D on an administrative flight to Danang, SVN. As the aircraft was about 18 miles out from Danang it disappeared from radar. Weather conditions precluded an immediate search of the area. Although the wreckage was later located, it was in an enemy-controlled area and a ground search was not feasible. Both men were carried as Missing in Action until the Secretary of the Air Force approved Presumptive Findings of Death - for Captain Jones, on 29 Aug 1978. Their remains have not been repatriated.
