Luey Holland was a neighbor of mine from about 1962 to 1964. Luey's family was probably one of the most destitute families that I've ever known. His mother was a single parent and he had two siblings. Luey was 3 years older than I was but we used to ride the same school bus as he went to High School and I went to my last year of Junior High.

He was in the California Cadet Corps and was a staff sergeant. Luey was a quiet, extremely handsome, neat and clean young man who worked in a supermarket to help his family get by. He was very proud of being a Cadet under Major Pauley at Corona High School in Corona, California, and he had creases sharper then knife blades ironed into that uniform, 5 days a week. Luey was a good boy and undoubtedly a good soldier. Rest in peace, Sergeant!

My name is Luey Vee Holland. Luey Vernon Holland was my uncle. He had three brothers, Johnny, Joe and Bobby. His mother wasn't a single parent. His father was Luey Vertree Holland. His father passed away around 1970. It was a little while after I was born, Oct. 17, 1969. I'll try to put more info up after I talk to my father, Joe. Our family thanks you for your interest in Luey Vernon.

From his nephew,
Luey Vee Holland
