Dear Billy,

I miss you to this day. I wish I had been there with you when you were killed in action during Operation Union II with Fox Company. I came the next day as quickly as I could with Echo 2/5 but it was too late. I will always remember the great times we shared in the 81 platoon before you were transferred to Fox Company 60 mortars. I have missed you so very much. Your smile, your sense of humor, your bravery. Rest in peace my friend. I will join you soon.
