Ron and I became buddies at Ft. Campbell before we went to Nam with Recon 1/506 Inf. 101st Airborne Div. We knew about 6 months before we were sent to Nam. That gave us a lot of time to try to party and get in as much trouble as we could between our preparation to becoming recondos.

Vietnam made us even closer as friends because of what we were engaged in. Ron, me, and five others were Medics at Fort Campbell but we all volunteered to become riflemen with recon. I will never forget that day when we lost Ron in the firefight. I think of him often and it still saddens me greatly. I would love to hear from Ron's family and friends.

The photo above is of Ron and me at FSB Keene, February 1968.
