A TRIBUTE TO SGT CHARLES EUGENE McMILLIONThe Bobcats have promoted Chuck for in our hearts and minds he is a sergeant. Chuck McMillion was a member of a squad from Charlie Company on a mission in the Hua Nghia area of Vietnam on 29 May 1969. When in contact with the enemy his armored personnel carrier was struck by a rocket propelled grenade. He was killed by multiple fragments caused by the strike of the RPG. Five other men were wounded by the same explosion. Chuck McMillion was 20 years old and had been in country for three weeks. Iï¿ 1/2 M FREEDonï¿ 1/2 t grieve for me, for now Iï¿ 1/2 m freeIï¿ 1/2 m following the path GOD has laid, you see I took His hand when I heard Him call. I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
If my parting has left a void,
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Remembered by his comrades - The BOBCATS of the 5TH INFANTRY REGIMENT (MECH) |
