A Note from The Virtual WallAt the end of March 1967 Bravo Company, 1/12 Cavalry, was brought in from the field for a rest at the 1st Cavalry Division's base camp near An Khe. The base was defended by a series of strong points around its perimeter, and Bravo 1/12 was given responsibility for one of them: LZ CHARLES.On 09 April LZ CHARLES was subjected to an attack by sappers. Although the NVA troops penetrated the perimeter, they were kicked out again - but at the cost of 8 Americans dead and many more wounded. The dead were
