I have worn your name for about 10 years and it has helped me greatly. You are not forgotten.

You are not forgotten. I have had your bracelet since 1970. It was bought for a donation at the "Just Pants" at the corner of Devon and Broadway in Chicago, when I was a Senior in High School. I wore it every day from then until my first daughter was born June 8, 1989, when they made me take it off. I put it back on from time to time after that and visited your name on the Wall about 8 years ago. I think I will now take the bracelet back out and put it on until I can figure out how to return it to your loved ones. You have been a part of my life for over 37 years.

I have owned, and, for many years, worn an MIA bracelet for Douglas Paul LeFever. It has been so long ago, I do not remember how or where I got it, but I've always kept it in a safe place, hoping one day to find this man returned to his family. Apparently he was declared dead in 1978. My heart goes out to his family.

Doug, a friend who will always be young and in my memories.

A Note from The Virtual WallIn the early morning hours of 05 Nov 1968 an F-4D "fast FAC" from the 497th Tactical Fighter Squadron at Ubon RTAFB was working a pair of Navy strike aircraft against a target in the Ban Karai pass area of Laos. When a fireball was seen on the ground and contact was lost with the FAC, the Navy crews initiated combat SAR, but no contact was made with the two crewmen from F-4CD 66-7748. Both men were classed as Missing in Action and remained in that status until the Secretary of the Air Force approved Presumptive Findings of death for them -
