My father was a great guy. I was 21 months old when he died. He graduated from the Air Force Academy in 1966. If you knew him I would love to hear from you. My name is Cammy and my e-mail is Sadiepat1@msn.com. I would be grateful to hear any stories about the time he spent with you.

God bless all who read this,
God bless all who died,
God bless all who they left behind,
and God bless America.

From his daughter,
Camela (Cammy) Gayle Estrada Patterson

I knew Carlos at USAF Academy and was in 21st Squadron with him. I tried to e-mail his daughter Cammy at the listed address but it was returned. If you read this, you can e-mail me and I'll gladly share my memories with you.

I am a cadet at the University of Texas and reading about the courage and sacrifices done by people such as Captain Estrada only inspires me to serve this nation as well. Thanks to people like him we enjoy the freedoms we have today. He was a native from my hometown of Brownsville, Texas. I also appreciate the sacrifice his family had to undergo. Thanks, you are what make this nation great.

I knew Carlos at Millard Prep School in Oregon, and also at the USAF Academy. He was a wonderful young man and made a strong impact on all those who met him.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

On 19 Mar 1970, two UH-1P aircraft of the 20th Special Operations Squadron based at Ban Me Thuot departed on a training flight. UH-1P tail number 65-07944, carrying a four-man crew, was shot down by enemy ground fire southeast of Ban Me Thuot. One gunner was thrown clear and survived, but three men died in the crash:
