In life, Bobby taught us to laugh, to ride a bike, to play football and how to open Christmas gifts before Christmas without anyone knowing we already saw our gifts. In death, he taught us to be closer to each other, to always be there for each other and to never take any day you're alive for granted. To our best teacher and our only brother - We love you, we miss you and we wonder how much more you would have taught us if you only came home.

I didn't know you, I wasn't alive at the time. I would have been your cousin if you were alive today. My mom has told me stories about you, and learning about your death. The obituary picture is sad because you look so young and hopeful, as a young man should be. It's freaky to think that I'm the same age as you when you died. I couldn't imagine having to fight at 20 years old. I visited the Memorial, I'm in DC for a special program at American University, and I had to write something. It's foolish, but I feel like I missed out by not being able to meet you and know you as a real family member. It's a shame what war does. God bless what you did. I'll always remember you and your service, even though we never met.
