In memory of a very dear brother who was taken from us at very young age. You left us here with the pain in our hearts, but what you did for this country we will never forget. All my love to you, brother, from your sister,

To Gary,
Your friend from school, |
To Gary, my "best Buddy" The days of horseback riding after school. Your calm, even tempered disposition, and easy smile. Your gentleness and good humor. I will never forget the day the horse took off, and then did a dead stop in my Mom's tomato plants. The fear when I hit the ground, and the hilarious laughter when all that was hurt was tomatoes. And then the story we had to conjure up to explain hoofprints in the garden. The hours of sitting, letting the horses graze alongside the road to Drewsville, and just talking. Trying to sort out who we were, and who we were going to become some day. You still leave a hole in my heart to this day. For all that you were to me, in those 20 short years and for all that you could have been, I will love you forever.
From the girl next door, |
Gary, I still remember the day you got your SP4 chevron. You were so excited, you and Verl. All those long nights on guard duty that the three of us pulled together. I remember your smile whenever they told you 'you had the duty'. I think of you often and miss you. Thank you for being my friend.
