11 Feb 2005 It has been a long journey to get to here, Upton. Some years ago, I found out that you had once lived and had once died before I was born. Though I never shook your hand or heard you call my name, I remembered you. Even I, with my not so conventional manner of being, could not for the life of me understand how it is that I had such an attatchment to you. The reason recently came to light. Words cannot describe having visited your memorial on another site and seeing the words of Al Pacheco. Not only did he remember you, he honored you and the awe and happiness I felt to go to his webpage and find your pictures was something totally surreal. He wanted to speak to someone that knew you. I was a poor substitute but I believe that hearing from someone who had your blood was greeted with happiness. My purpose for holding on was to help someone else let go. I am privileged to be able to connect you two after all this time. It will always go down as one of the most memorable things in my life. The chances of it happening were so slim and yet it happened. Surely there were others who knew you better, were closer to you, but I hope you do not mind that I have taken it upon myself to keep your memory alive. It is not fair that you are gone and not fair that I will never know you as I want to. It is beyond fair to say that I will never forget.
